You are handing a stranger your keys at the end of a long night. We never forget how much that asks of you. So nothing here runs on goodwill. Every part of a BackLeft trip is checked, recorded and watched.
01 / Vetting
Before a driver meets you, they meet this.
Every BackLeft driver is an employee who has cleared the full pipeline. Not a contractor. Not a profile photo with a star rating.
Background check
Driving record, prior employment and references, confirmed by phone, not by form.
Certification & training
Defensive driving certification plus two weeks of BackLeft training on handover, conduct and night protocol.
Supervised probation
First trips run under senior review with full telemetry. Only then does a driver work alone.
02 / Handover
Your car's condition, on the record.
Before your driver touches the wheel, you walk the car together. Body panels, wheels, interior, fuel level and mileage are photographed in the app, by both of you, timestamped and stored with the trip.
At your gate, the same record closes the trip. If anything ever differs between handover and arrival, the photos decide it, not an argument. On most trips the record proves one thing: nothing happened.

GPS on every trip
Your route, speed and position stream to BackLeft live ops from request to arrival. Nothing about your trip happens off the record.
Someone else can watch too
One tap shares your live trip with anyone you choose. They see the car, the driver's name and the ETA until you are home.

The SOS button connects you to a human in our operations room, with your exact location already on their screen. It is never more than one tap away, for you or your driver.

Insured trips. Protected data.
Every trip carries cover
Each BackLeft trip is insured for the vehicle and its occupants while a BackLeft driver is at the wheel, alongside your own policy, never instead of it. Claims are handled by us, supported by the handover record and trip telemetry, so you are not left negotiating alone.
Kenya Data Protection Act
Trip data, handover photos and your personal details are processed under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. Stored securely, used to run your trips and handle claims, never sold. You can request your data or its deletion at any time via hello@backleft.co.ke.
